Two KUKA industrial robots and a professional harpist share the stage, and, in part, an instrument. In this human-robot collaboration, harpist Christoph Bielefeld performs live on his own harp while the two robots play a second harp alongside him, their hard, angular mechanics set against the soft curves and warmth of a classical instrument.
That deliberate contrast, cold automation meeting traditional craft, raises questions about where human artistry sits as creative processes grow more automated, and what becomes of handmade artistic traditions.
