Experiments on robotic welding of collector elements as part of a funded research project SolPol at Industrial Design.

Together with students of industrial design, the product potential and conceivable product variants were first examined in order to derive ambitious design concepts. The Solpol research project won the Austrian Solar Prize in the category of education and training as well as the Sustainability Award 2018 of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism (BMNT). “SolPol” was launched in 2010 and lasted until October 2018. Three Austrian universities, 19 corporate partners and 10 scientific partner organisations worked together in the field of solar thermal systems and photovoltaics.
